Toddler Toes

We went to our 2nd Toddler Toes play date yesterday. It's a little monthly play date that we're trying to get going. It's more like field trips than play dates really. We had a smaller turnout yesterday because it was pouring down rain! It was supposed to be at the play park in Bentonville, but there's only 1 medium sized pavilion there and we knew it would be impossible to keep the kids out of the rain. So, we moved it to a park just a few blocks away with a huge pavilion. The kids made flip/flop ice cream and colored all over the sidewalk and each other with chalk. Here are a few pictures....

Here's Rex and Kyla watching their Mommies make their ice cream while Hannah and Hailey's Mommies are trying to keep them out of the mud!
Michael learning how to make ice cream.

"Da Boyz" drawing on anything in sight!

A group picture...missing a few.

Ainsley rolling her ice cream around in her towel.

Ainsley is still flipping and flopping while Caleb is learning how.

Ainsley is "eye-ing" Will's boots again. She LOVES shoes and kept trying to take his off so she could put them on!

Look at Kyla's pink bottom! I think my child (who cries if she gets dirt on her fingers) was the only one who came out without chalk or mud. And I was even prepared with old clothes!

Awww....Hugs for Kyla. Ainsley really loved Kyla's silver bracelet. Once she saw it, she kept following Kyla around trying to look at it again. She has a gold baby bracelet that's too small now. I guess I'm going to have to find her another "grown-up" bracelet to go with her "grown-up" necklace. She thinks the stretchy bracelets are just for play.

Overall it was a pretty good morning, considering our circumstances. There wasn't much else we could do at the last minute. And I think the kids really had fun. The group is supposed to be about the kids anyway, and all kids love playing in the rain, right? Next month we're going to the drive-through safari so it should be a blast!
